The Nerja Caves (Cuevas de Nerja) have been the location for the annual ‘Festival de Música y Danza’ since the caves opened to the public in 1960 and the concerts attract international stars.
Amongst those who have performed in the Nerja Caves include Rostropovich, Sir Yehudi Menuhin, Maya Pilsetkaya, Montserrat Caballé, Dame Kiri Te Kanawa and José Carreras.
The 57th International Festival of Music and Dance takes place between June 24th and July 16th 2016 and will feature concerts by Ainhoa Arteta, Jorge Pardo, Los Vivancos and the Ballet Nacional de España.
June 24th 2016: Ainhoa Arteta. Takes place inside the Nerja Caves.
June 25th 2016: Ainhoa Arteta. Takes place inside the Nerja Caves.
July 2nd 2016: Jorge Pardo. Takes place inside the Nerja Caves.
July 9th 2016: Los Vivancos. Takes place in Plaza de España. Free.
July 16th 2016: The Flamenco company of Susana Lupiáñez, La Lupi, will be performing their latest spectacular, ‘Mudanza’. This is a change to the original programming which listed the Ballet Nacional de España. Takes place in Plaza de España from 23:00. Free.
Tickets will be on sale online via the Cuevas de Nerja website and in person at the Nerja Museum in Plaza de España.
