Hours and Tariffs

The Nerja Caves are open every day of the year except on January 1st (New Year’s Day) and May 15th (Romeria de San Isidro).

Opening Times

Winter

09:00 – 15:00 (Closes at 16:00) with entry every 30 minutes.

Summer (July and August) plus Thursday, Friday and Sunday during Easter Week

09:00 – 17:30 (Closes at 18:30) with entry every 30 minutes.

Tariffs

General Visit

The general visit begins with the screening of an audiovisual presentation in which you will be able to see details of the cave (10 minutes). This is followed by an audio-guided visit through the different chambers of the Cave, lasting about 45 minutes. The audio guide is in Spanish, English, German, French, Italian and Russian.

Children aged 6 years to 12 years: €6.00
Children under 6 years: Free

Exclusive Tours

There are three different tours on offer and these take place outside the normal cave hours.

The Secrets of the Caves

Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays 17:00 (July & August 18:30)

A tour of some of the areas not open during normal visits.

The Discovery Tour

Saturdays 17:00 (July & August 18:30). (Does not include visit to tourist galleries. Not recommended for children under 10 years. The wearing of comfortable shoes is recommended for this tour.

This tour is a visit to chambers – La Torca and La Mina – not open to the general public and you will see the original entry point of the ‘discoverers’ of the Nerja Caves.

Night Tour

Saturdays 18:00 (July & August 19:30)

Only a head lamp will guide your way on this special tour, so you will experience some of the same sensations as those original discoverers as you move around in total darkness.

Cueva Tren

Adults: €12
Children aged 6 to 12 years: €8
Children under 6 years: Free

Entry fees can only be paid in cash.

On Sunday mornings throughout the year, entry to the Nerja Caves is free for residents of Nerja. Proof of residency must be shown.

Nerja History Museum

The Nerja History Museum is open every day of the year except on January 1st (New Year’s Day) and May 15th (Romeria de San Isidro).

Combined Nerja Caves + Nerja History Museum visit: €11.00

Entry fees can only be paid in cash.

There is free entry to the Nerja History Museum on the following days:

Día de Andalucía (February 28th)
Día Internacional de los Museos (May 18th)
Día Mundial del Turismo (September 27th)
Día Jornadas Europeas de Patrimonio

On Sunday evenings throughout the year, entry to the Nerja History Museum is free for EU passport holders.
